About Us
At the core of this project is a simple yet powerful vision: bridging scientific research and eco-tourism to create meaningful exploration experiences while supporting conservation efforts. The belief is that adventure should have a purpose, and that scientific discovery should be accessible, engaging, and impactful.
This initiative was founded to address three major challenges: scientific fieldwork is often hindered by financial and logistical constraints, many travelers seek more meaningful experiences beyond traditional tourism, and scientific research is widely discussed yet poorly understood, leading to skepticism and detachment from real-world applications. Despite the frequent quoting of studies, few people outside academia truly understand how research is conducted, which can create mistrust in scientific findings. This project serves as a bridge, connecting scientists with engaged travelers who actively participate in data collection, fostering greater transparency, trust, and appreciation for the scientific process. By addressing these challenges, each expedition becomes both a research-driven mission and an immersive educational experience.
Aboard the expedition sailboat, Petit Loir, the project will provide researchers with a flexible and sustainable mobile field station, allowing them to conduct ecological studies in remote coastal environments. At the same time, adventurers join as active participants, engaging in hands-on research and gaining a deeper understanding of the fragile ecosystems they explore.
The Goals of the Initiative
To facilitate scientific research by providing a cost-effective, mobile platform for field studies.
To engage travelers in conservation efforts by integrating hands-on citizen science experiences into every expedition.
To promote sustainability and awareness through responsible tourism that directly supports research and conservation.
To create a lasting impact by fostering connections between scientists, explorers, and local communities.
To reduce skepticism towards science and clear up misunderstandings by increasing transparency, demonstrating real research in action, and providing participants with a deeper understanding of the scientific process and its real-world applications.
At the moment, this is a one-man operation. From sailing and logistics to research coordination and education, every aspect of this project is driven by passion and dedication. As the initiative grows, collaboration with researchers, adventurers, and institutions will shape its future., ensuring that every journey is not only an adventure but also an opportunity for knowledge-sharing and discovery.
